African women have to walk\ndaily for an average of 6 km in order to get drinkable water. Every minute a\nchild dies of a disease caused by contaminated water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The village of Pa\u00fal has the best water resource of the archipelago of Cape Verde thanks to many sources. However, most of this water is used for agriculture at the expense of drinkable water for local population.&nbsp; In addition, the current water system is constitued of water gutters built before the independance whose state is nowadays very degraded and leads to significant losses. The project consists to set-up&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A groundwater catchment facility, with a small overflow tank<\/li><li>A HDPE pipe fixed on cement pillars. Total length&nbsp;: about 2000 m <\/li><li>A storage water tank of 15 to 20 m3, including manual chlorination unit<\/li><li>Drinking water network feeding the housings<strong>.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This project will allow&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Making available a sustainable, closeness and\nquality water ressource to the local inhabitants <\/li><li>Reducing\nwater carrying burden for women which will help them to participate to\nmeaningful activitives<\/li><li>Inverting rural exodus and promote the\nestablisment of new housings<\/li><li>Sustainably preserving water resource and environment <\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":3656,"template":"","etat":[350],"session":[],"class_list":["post-3658","projet-envies","type-projet-envies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","etat-seleccionado"],"acf":{"projet_objectif":"It is said that water is drinkable when one does not die while drinking it.
